After the tourists have gone home for the season, Chef Matt Kern hosts wine dinners for his loyal locals. As the executive chef and owner of One Coastl in lil’ ole Fenwick Island, Matt serves as an example of true leadership. His team is a family, his food is pure, and his attitude towards the industry (and the world in general) is one that I wish more would adopt. Operating like a tight knit family, I joined them in the kitchen to document who they are before, during, and after service. The hours of prep work led to a palpable feeling of anticipation waiting on the first guests to join us. From the first wine pairing to everyone's eventual espresso shots, the dinner went off without a hitch. This session was shot almost entirely on film to highlight the soft, warm environment of the One Coastal restaurant and the incredible people who make it what it is.
